Bamboo is known as the fastest growing renewable resource. Over half of the worlds population uses it every single day. It has earned the nickname of being “the plant of 1001 uses” because of its broad uses throughout the world. We have also chosen it for the inherent yogic qualities of being green, flexible, bending in difficulty, but never breaking. There is a traditional belief that it can restore calmness and stimulate creativity. Bamboo groves were a favorite dwelling place of the Buddha. Enjoy this block as it supports you in your practice of Yoga.Bamboo is technically a grass and is therefore easily and quickly renewable, which makes it the perfect material for this yoga block from Hugger Mugger. In addition to being harvested from a sustainable material, this block has comfortable, rounded edges, a smooth finish, a hollow core, and is lightweight for easy toting to and from the studio. It also comes with a lifetime warranty.

beautiful block, does what it’s supposed to This is a great yoga block. It’s got a good weight to it and it more environmentally friendly than wood which uses more slow growing resources and foam, which will eventually end up in a landfill. I’m not a huge fan of cork as i don’t like the way it feels in my hands, but that’s just me. I’m happy with my purchase and am considering getting a second block.—-update–edited to add that i’ve had the block for nearly 2 years, use it almost daily and it’s still in great shape.

One is uneven at seams We use wooden blocks at my studio but they are really heavy, so I was excited to get the hollow ones. Unfortunately, I don’t really like them after all – I worry about them breaking when I put significant amounts of weight on them because they don’t feel as solid (obviously). That actually has more to do with personal preference though. The main reason I’m not excited about these is that one of the ones I bought (I bought two) is glued unevenly – it scratches me when I grab it “wrong” and worrying about it is distracting – and neither one of them feel exceptionally smooth.* Overall they are ok but I’m going to replace them with solid wood ones after all.* I can’t get this review to sound NOT pretentious and annoying but I mean come on, I bought yoga blocks from Amazon. How pretentious and annoying… 🙂
